Intent

Your personal will can take you far, but when you connect with the power of intent – the will of your spirit that is when true magic and miracles occur.

Intent is often misunderstood. It is a power that wells up from deep inside pushing us toward freedom, happiness and joy. There is also the will of our small self seemingly seeking the same things yet leading us further and further away from true freedom and joy.

The best way to understand intent is to feel it. Once you learn to use intent freedom and joy become a way of life. Play with intent. Notice when you instinctively set your intent and something manifests effortlessly in your life. Observe what happens when you harness the will of your small self. Begin to notice the difference between true intent and will.

Aligning the intent if your small self with the intent of your spirit is an incredibly freeing experience and a wonderful way to live your life. Surrendering can set you free.

true power

In the Toltec tradition there is a lot of discussion about power. Often times what we think is powerful really is the antithesis of true power. We often want power so we can feel safe.

Love – uncondtional love is really our best protection. When we fully open our heart and release all judgment what is happening external has little meaning. People’s opinions, judgments and actions no longer have the power to affect us.

Our judgment of what happens ‘our there’ causes us to disconnect from our spirit. Then we react not to what is happening out there, but to our feelings of separation. We are powerless when we disconnect from the essence of who and what we are. When we are connected to that source we are indeed powerful, we can choose how to act rather than react.

Aloha

Aloha,

This morning as I was meditating I thought about creating this space to post some of my insights and thoughts about the process of achieving personal freedom. I began this journey almost almsot 20 years ago and it has been quite an adventure – certainly not one I would have consciously chosen. I am so grateful for the gifts I have recieved along the way.

This truly is a journey of the heart although it started out as one of the mind. It is so easy to get caught up in explanations and thoughts and concepts when it is really about expanding, exploring and surrendering.

My small self feels safe when I ‘know’ things and I am in control. True freedom lies in the opposite direction – when I am absolutley vulnerable and open and have surrendered completely to the process where ever that takes me.

For me, starting this journal is a step in that direction.

With love,
Susan
