Magnets and attraction

Aloha everyone, avebury.JPG

I was wandering around a gift shop in Avebury yesterday and they had some magnetized crystals. I remember playing with magnets as a child. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t make two north poles go together and when I put a magnet under a piece of paper with metal shavings on it a magnet always made the same pattern.

As I played with the magnets I realized how much like our thoughts they are. No matter how much we would like to get different results until we change our beliefs we will get the same results. Fear based thoughts will create more fear and energy that contracts. So if I decide to do something in order to feel safe I will create more to be afraid of because my decision was made from fear rather than love.

I could take what seems to be the same action, but if I made the choice because it was the most loving thing to do I would get different results. I can pretend and try to fool myself into believing my choices are made from love, but the gift of physical reality is I can’t fool the universe.

All thoughts are energy and are clearly reflected in our lives. Change our thoughts and we change the reflection. Everything that is in our life is there by invitation and everything that isn’t in our life isn’t there because we haven’t invited it yet. Usually we aren’t consciously aware of the invitations we are sending out until the results show up in our lives.

Life is and then we tell ourselves a story and our story sends out an invitation for what comes next. The more we embrace the idea that everything is perfect and we have a deep sense of gratitude and joy for everything in our lives guess what kind of an invitation we are sending out?

Enjoying the perfection of every moment.

It all depends on us

I love Lithuania. The country is so beautiful. Each morning I walk across the street to the lake and feed the swans. There are lots of seagulls and several swans. One is rather timid and seldom gets any food. It ducks when a seagull flies by and moves away when they pull at her feathers. The other swans chase away the seagulls. Same lake, same species of birds but a very different outcome.

Today I began teaching a three year long Teacher’s Training. Lots of people have come to attend the class, but my hunch is that three years from now there will only be a few people left. We are often so busy looking for the answers that we forget we are the answer.

There was a woman in the last workshop that sells nutritional supplements. She does ‘readings’ for people, convinces them that they have a terrible disease and then sells them the cure. I teach about self empowerment and creating our own reality yet people are so willing to give away their power and believe in someone or something else.

I often wonder why as a species we are so willing to give our power away. How is it we refuse to actually live as gods and so easily embrace feeling like a victim? There was a time in my process where I did that a lot. Someone would say something and I would hook into that wounded place within me and I believe. I would believe that there was something beyond myself that could make it all better. I would believe that someone or something could fix me and that I needed fixing.

Now I know when I feel that little catch in my stomach it is time to make a different choice. I am perfect just the way I am and I don’t need fixing. Perhaps an adjustment to my filter system, but at a profound level there is no out there so how can I step fully into who and what I am and enjoy the situation?

So I come back to the question, “What do I want to create? Happiness and joy or not. Do I want to remember I am the creator in my life or believe that external events dictate how I feel? It all depends on my answer to those questions. I long ago realized the quality of my life is dependent on the type of questions I ask myself and how I answer them.

So what would you like to create in your life and what beliefs are you willing to let go of to make it so?

Swans

Aloha, photo_091207_002.jpg

Swans are so graceful. This morning I went to the water to feed them and walked up to one that was sitting on the shore. They are rather large and he immediately started to hiss at me. Since I was there to feed them I thought that was an interesting reaction.

I am teaching a great deal about filter systems so I though about how his response was so much like our minds. Someone is there to love us and we react with anger because we are threatened by their definition of love. We want to be happy but we want happiness to show up in the way we want it to show up. So, we dismiss happiness when it shows up in a different form.

I feed the swans and watched in fascination as they did their dance with each other and the people that came to feed them. They were swans and we were people coming to feed them. We each had our own beliefs, agreements and assumptions. There was a young baby watching with complete fascination. Her eyes were huge and her concentration absolute. She had no thoughts, just complete abandon to the experience. What a gift. She reminded me that I can think about an experience or immerse myself it, savor it completely and I can just be alive in the moment.

One of the workshop participants was taken away to the hospital this morning. She had lost her grasp on reality and begun to live in a fantasy world filled with personal demons. I watched the baby, the swans and thought of her. Life is and then we tell ourselves a story. It is a beautiful day here in Lithuania. Later today I will do a beautiful ceremony, the swans will still be gliding in the lake, the baby will probably be sleeping and this woman will be in the hospital. You are sitting wherever you are reading this. We are all living in different worlds, in different places and in different times yet we are still all connected by these words.

No matter how hard we try to convince ourselves that we are separate being, in the end we are all one and we are all god. Have a wonderful day unless you have plans otherwise and then have whatever type of day you have chosen. I find it helps me to remember I can choose to start my day over whenever I want. Heaven and hell are always just a thought away.

Susan

Sunrise sunset

Aloha, photo_090707_001.jpg

As I was teaching class today I began talking about the sun’s journey, well actually the earth’s journey around the sun. I visualized dawn as it raced around the globe. It is always sunrise somewhere on the earth.

Today was the last day of a four-day workshop. Tomorrow I begin another one. I had the afternoon off so I was walking along just enjoying the day. The sun was shinning, the air was fresh and crisp, but there was warmth to the sun. The sunlight reflecting off the water was magical.

There were well over a hundred people attending the workshop and Nida is a small town. As I walked along most of the people I passed had been in the workshop. Their smiles and the hugs I gave and received along the way were wonderful. I felt incredibly grateful to be here, half way around the world. How wonderful it is to walk along and just share love. In Hawaii they call that living aloha. I imagined a wave of love flowing around the world just like the dawn. For me, that was a wonderful image.

Long ago I realized not all people want to experience peace and joy. Some people prefer war and violence and isn’t it great that this planet is big enough to have room for both. I no longer need to dictate what other people create in order for me to feel safe, happy, loved and at peace. That was a big stretch for me. I was really dedicated to creating world peace until one day I realized peace would be hell for people that enjoy violence.

The most important question we can ask ourselves is, “What do I want to create?” I find it useful to make sure my answer doesn’t require anyone else to change or to act in a certain way, in a way I think they should be. If my definition of personal freedom enslaves someone else is that really freedom at all?

Life is and then we tell ourselves a story. Does your story demand things of others? Does is require the world conform to a certain script in order for you to be happy and feel safe? If it does, maybe it’s time to delve deeper into your filter system or not.

The gift of the present moment

Aloha from the Baltic Sea,photo_090507_003.jpg

I promised Zack my magical internet adviser and pod producer I would post more frequently. So, for the next six weeks I will be posting my musings as while I’m on my travels. I just arrived in Nida a beautiful town on the edge of the Baltic Sea here in Lithuania.

Once I finally arrive in a new location I love being there and the events that happen are most often quite magical. It took me years to realize that the increase in magic and miracles that occurs when I travel is directly related to me be fully present and in the moment.

For me traveling removes the habitual nature of moving from one moment to the next so I am much more likely to be in the present moment. Of course, I can choose to be in the present moment in any moment regardless of what is happening around me.

And it is only when I am in the moment that I am available to experience the magic. Magic is always present the question is am I?  That was an incredibly freeing insight for me.

For years I had noticed times of profound synchronicity and I wondered about their coming and goings. Of course I create everything in my life, so the question was how did I create that? How freeing and how empowering is was when I realized it was simply a matter of my focus or lack of it.!

So here I am at the edge of the Baltic Sea. And the invitation of the newness opens me up to more magical experiences. As that awareness spreads though my consciousness I suddenly realized why some people move a lot or like the beginning of relationships or the next new job or . . . . And ironically that pull toward newness stops us from actually being in the present moment.

That mistaken belief in projection strikes again. At one level there is no out there and of course out there is part of physical existence. That said, when we look externally for anything, whether it is love or abundance or happiness we deny it to ourselves because we are no longer in the present moment and available to experience what is. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

In other words, be in the moment. If I want to be happy rather than waiting for happiness and I can allow myself to have it right here and right now.

Well that’s enough from me right now. I am going to enjoy this present moment which happens to be full of the sun and the wind and the beauty of physical reality and I hope you will give yourself that gift as well or enjoy whatever gift you are giving to yourself.

With lots of love and aloha,
Susan
