New Beginnings

Aloha,

  ana.jpg

It often rains a lot here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Today the sun rose and there wasn’t a cloud anywhere. The sky was the most beautiful shade of blue. Yesterday I buried my little miracle chicken Ana. When she was a few days old she died, the vet did mouth to beak resuscitation and brought her back to life. She often wandered into the house and just the other day I found her on the dinning room table as evidenced by the photo. Needless to say, I chased her outside after I took the picture. I was sad at her passing, but this morning as I looked at the sky all I could think about was new beginnings.

What a blessing each day is. No matter what is happening in the moment we can savor the experience. Yesterday was the only time I was blessed with the opportunity to say goodbye to Anna. I helped raise her, enjoyed her antics and loved her. I was able to savor her life and I was there when her spirit left her body.

Today I got to enjoy the beauty of another sunrise and think about new beginnings. When I wake up in the morning I always do two things immediately. I give thanks for the precious day about to unfold and say good morning to my spirit. When I start my day with gratitude and love, magic and miracles are sure to follow even when the day includes the passing of a friend.

When I approach life from that perspective I feel far more expansive and happier than when my first thoughts are worrisome. One of the most powerful moments in your day is that first moment of awakening. It is called a hypnagogic state (technically it is called hypnopompic) and your mind is very suggestible at that moment.  So if you use it to worry your mind will gladly oblige you by creating events to worry about. If on the other hand you use it to celebrate a day full of glorious new beginnings your mind will help you create events to celebrate about.

Whatever you focus your attention on you get more of, so what are you going to focus on today? Love or fear? Celebration or judgment? What you think about, what you see is what you get more of, so see everything as pono (perfect) and you will get more perfection. It really is as simple as that, but often we are rather fond of arguing for our limitations. So often we would rather be right than happy. We can think of war is bad because people are injured or see it as a perfect way for spirits of the people who die to remember to choose love next time. We can see any event many different ways and none are inherently right or wrong!

At this moment pregnant with endless possibilities what are you going to choose to think about next?

With love and aloha,
Susan

Dominion

Aloha,  stonehenge-at-dawn-e-mail.jpg

When I teach I talk a great deal about dominion. Dominion is a way of looking at life that really facilitates deepening your connection with your spirit. Symbolically I envision dominion as a sphere with each position representing a different spot with a slightly different perspective. When I view life that way it is much easier for me to have love, understanding and acceptance of everyone and accept their choices, no matter what they are.

This morning I watched the sunrise from the beach here in Hawaii. The air is balmy and the water was deliciously warm as it swirled around my feet and I felt so loved and grateful. As I stood there I thought about this sphere called earth and the idea of dominion. A little over a week ago I was standing in the middle of Stonehenge watching the sunrise while I did a powerful ceremony. The air was crisp and cold and there was magic in the air. Same planet, just different places on that sphere.

As I sit on the lanai looking at the ocean feeling very peaceful and loved, there are people half way around the world violently dying because of car bombs. I certainly prefer my perspective, but if I judge war as bad and wrong I am no longer at peace. The atmosphere of earth equally embraces us all. As I deepen my connection with my spirit it becomes easier for me to embrace everyone’s choice.

The concept that there are no victims on this planet only volunteers is challenging at times and it is also very empowering. I made a series of choices that allowed me to be sitting here this morning writing this. If I hadn’t been willing to change my perspective years ago I wouldn’t be here. Every moment of every day I have the opportunity to deepen my connection with my spirit or my filter system. Whenever I judge anyone or anything I am arguing for my limited perspective.

Today I can choose love more often than fear and what a gift that is. I can watch the news and send love to all the participants instead of judging the violence. I was thinking about the planet and global warming and pollution. With each thought I can pollute the world with my judgment and fears or resonate love and acceptance. I have found staying in a place of love challenging at times, but the more I practice it the better it feels.

Sending out bunches of aloha blessings and love,

Susan

Peace amongst the stones

Aloha,   susan-and-hawk.jpg

I have some amazing expereinces in England. Here is a picture of me with a hawk. Then a few days ago I had the privilege of going into Stonehenge before dawn and doing a ceremony. It was amazing to stand amongst those ancient stones and feel the power and the stillness. It really felt like stepping back in time. Yesterday I went to the Chalice Well in Glastonbury and was really struck by the stillness I felt within myself and then it struck me.

The saying, “the quiet, still place that lies within” kept running through my mind. It is in that inner stillness we can find ourselves. It is in that silence we find the peace that lives within us all. And from that place anything is possible.

Be still and know you are the goddess. What a simple and powerful action we can take moment by moment. Simply step into the stillness. If I decide to stop thinking I create resistance but if consciously choose to step into the stillness there is an ease and a sense of profound connection. What an incredible gift that has always lived within me and all I have to do is choose.

Last night I had a dream that I was being cradled by the goddess. Just held, nurtured and loved. It is something I always longed for and never even knew it was possible or a desire that lived within me.

Give yourself the gift of surrendering to love and allowing the universe to embrace you. The universe only has one answer to any of our request and that is yes. There are never any no’s or maybes just a resounding yes. Of course all of our request go through our filter system. So allow for the possibility that the universe is a loving supportive place, open up to the stillness that lives within you and see what sort of magic and miracles are possible.

With love and aloha from the stillness,
Susan
