The Art of Allowing

Aloha everyone!

I’ve gotten a few questions about what exactly the art of allowing
is and I thought the best way to explain and help you with this and
similar concepts I teach would be to do it in a live webinar.

I’ll talk more about this concept and how you can use this idea to
have greater peace and joy in your life.

You’ll find out more about some of the following concepts and I’ll
be answering questions about:

Unconditional Self Love
How to Follow Your Passion
How to Allow for the Possibility
How to Stay Centered in the Midst of Fear

And anything else you have a question about that we can cover in
about 1 hour. There is a box on the the link where you can leave a question ahead of time. I will answer as many of them as possible.

If you’ve been wondering what the art of allowing is all about,
join in on Sunday when I’ll be teaching about allowing and loving
and so much more . . .

Fearless Friday

Aloha everyone,

iStock_000005490020XSmall As you probably already know I am taking care of my dad. He has Alzheimer’s and thinks he is 91. My partner’s mom just died last week. The other morning when I was meditating I got the message, “There really is nothing to fear, you already know the ending.”

When I heard that all I could do was laugh. It is true, no matter how much money we have or don’t have, no matter how many friends, no matter what kind of life we have it always ends with death. So then the question becomes, “How do I want to feel right now?” All of our emotions are generated, not by the events in our life, but by the internal dialog about the events.

So, all I have to do is change the story to one that will generate how I want to feel. Once we change our alignment from our mind to our spirit life certainly becomes much easier.

Fear certainly is an option but not a requirement! A friend of mine reads the end of a book first so she can relax and enjoy the story. So you already know the end of the story, are you willing to relax and enjoy the journey?

With love and aloha,
Susan

Memorial Day

Aloha,

Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world where war was no longer necessary? I think so. I am sure there are others who enjoy war but I like the idea of peace on earth goodwill toward all.

Someone sent me a link to this video and I thought I would share it in honor of the day.

Susan

Silent Sunday

Aloha,

Instead of just posting an image for you to meditate on I thought I would talk a little bit about the power of silence. Many years ago I taught a class and each month everyone took a day of silence. The first day I spent in silence was very powerful and informative. I had no idea how much energy I used every day speaking.

When I finally spoke the next day it felt odd. In the Hawaiian tradition the ancients knew how powerful words really were, so they used them prudently. One of my favorite stories my Hawaiian kumu tells is about an aunt that was very angry with her. Normally when people enter another’s yard they call out aloha. Mahealani said she knew she was in trouble when her aunt came in the yard and there was no aloha.

Her aunt began to talk to her rapidly in Hawaiian, but had to switch to English because there were no Hawaiian words to express her anger. Even their language reflected the belief in the importance of living aloha.

My mother used to tell me, “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” If you don’t have the time or inclination to take a day of silence why not at least take a day to speak only words of love? Imagine what would happen to our world if all hurtful and angry words were removed from our vocabulary!

With love and aloha,
Susan

PS I am about to start a wonderful new series called The Art of Allowing and I am very happy no announce that my other blog Angels on Your Shoulders has moved to beliefnet.com. Check them both out!
