Trojans, viruses and bears OH MY

As I write this post I hear lines from the Wizard of Oz, “Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” running through my mind. I love that movie!

Yesterday several readers were kind enough to promptly tell me that they had received warnings when they opened my site. So I immediately contacted my web magician Zack who took down the site and fixed the problem.

I used to do live, on-line chats at James Van Praagh’s site. It was a wonderful opportunity for people to gather and support one another on their spiritual journey. Many of them had just experienced the loss of a loved one and it was a wonderful place to move beyond the grief.

Someone hacked his site and he had to shut down the chat rooms for a while. If the people that take the time to do that sort of thing used all that energy in a loving and productive way what magic they could create in their lives and the lives of others.

It is amazing the kind of world fear creates and the magical world love can create. So my site is once again secure and I will continue to share Toltec wisdom and the gift of aloha from ancient Hawaiian spirituality.

An exercise you might find useful is to look at the petty tyrants in your life and ask for the willingness to see them through the eyes of love. Petty tyrants are our greatest teachers. They are people, places and things that annoy us and allow us to engage our filter system. Once we see our part in the creation they either leave or stay but either way they no longer bother us. We are free to stay centered and act rather than react.

So, what do you want?

That is such a simple question, the way we answer it affects our life profoundly and yet so many people I work with have difficulty with it. Generally when I ask people what they want I get a litany of what they don’t want.

Toltec wisdom reminds us of the power of our words. Ancient Hawaiian spirituality is based on the power of words. The Hawaiian language has fewer letters and had fewer words. They knew the power contained in each sound, in each word and in our intent. That is why they always lived aloha, they lived from love.

The law of attraction was a way of life for the Hawaiians, the Toltec and the ancient ones. Harnessing awareness, transformation and intent is a powerful way to consciously use the law of attraction.

When people explore the question of what they want using the three masteries, I suggest that rather than get specific, they get in touch with what a certain thing would bring into their life. If they want a relationship what would change if they had one? Often times people reply by saying they would feel loved, secure, nurtured and safe. I suggest they begin by generating those feelings on a regular basis and rather than focusing on the relationship set their intent to feel loved, safe, secure and nurtured.

Setting your intent will assist you in creating what you do want as well as seeing how you stop yourself from having it. Use your awareness to notice what you focus on most of the time. Chances are if you don’t have enough money you focus on not having more often than the feeling of abundance.

I can guarantee if you focus energetically on what you DO want, more often than on what you don’t want you will have it. Bottom line, whatever is in your life was invited into your life by your filter system and what isn’t in your life isn’t there because it isn’t consistent with your beliefs, agreements and assumptions.

A great exercise is to carry around a small pad and note whenever you have a thought or feeling about what you don’t want, Write it down with the intent of changing that feeling and then think about how it will feel when you have what you do want. Maybe even create a word picture of how you would feel living the life of your dreams and place it in the back of your pad. Read it every time you make a note of a contrary thought.

It’s all relative

IMG_0343I used to think my experience of life was related to what was happening externally. That belief often left me feeling like a victim. It was all about what they did or what happened out there. When I graduated from college the economy was tanking so I couldn’t get a job. At the time I never associated my inability to get a job with my attitude or my beliefs. It was definitely the economy’s fault.

Then I read Jane Roberts book The Nature of Personal Reality. The idea that we create our own reality certainly changed my life. At first I used the idea that I was the creator of my reality as an excuse to beat myself up emotionally. Over the years I have watched lots of people do the same thing. I was so steeped in victim mentality that I could use almost anything to feel victimized including information that was about self-empowerment!

When I talk to people that are new to the concept of conscious creation I invariably get the question, “What about children or victims of a horrible crime?” As long as we view the world from the perspective of domination we will remain immersed in the belief of victimization.

From the perspective of our spirit there are no victims, there is no right or wrong there is just what is. And “what is” presents us with the perfect opportunity to see and release our limiting filter system or strengthen our beliefs. Beliefs are all based on the assumption that our perspective of reality is the truth. It took me a long time to be comfortable with the idea that there is no “the truth” that the truth is all relative.

The other day I heard a wonderful explanation of a car accident. When we get in our car we can take a few moments, get centered and visualize ourselves arriving safely at our destination or we can just get in the car and drive. A car accident occurs when two or more cars arrive in the same place with drivers that haven’t consciously decided to arrive safely, so they come together and make a loud noise.

There is nothing wrong with a car accident. It is an event that occurs when we haven’t chosen something else consciously. The key word being consciously. I look at some of the events in my childhood and they are consistent with my desire to understand life from a more spiritual perspective. My spirit chose my childhood because it provided me with the opportunities most likely to assist me in seeing and releasing my limiting beliefs. Especially my belief that I was separate from my spirit, others and God.

When I look at life from the perspective of dominion events take on an entirely differently meaning. In dominion I can see the perfection of everything. The Hawaiian concept that everything is pono (perfect) until I tell myself otherwise takes on new meaning. When I see the perfection I am also able to see how my beliefs cause my feelings of separation which are the real cause of my discomfort. When I feel the interdependence of all of life my choices are far different and they are based in love. When I believe I am separate my choices are often judgmental and fear based.

Fear gives us the ability to hurt one another while love allows us to have compassion, acceptance and joy. I certainly prefer the world that love builds and beside love just feels better. So for today I choose love.

Watching the flowers grow …

Aloha,

I am in the process of getting my garden ready to replant. Here in Hawaii keeping the jungle at bay takes a lot of work. Getting things like roses to grow takes a lot of patience, nurturing and care. I found out roses like warmth so I built several small stone walls behind my rose bushes and they are doing quite well. I enjoy watching the leaves turn from red to green as the branches grow. Then small buds emerge, slowly swelling and eventually become beautiful, fragrant roses. I am always amazed that such thorny plants can yield such beautiful flowers.

Life is a lot like that. Some of the roughest experiences can create the most freedom and joy in our lives when we are willing to use them as an opportunity to let go of our limiting thinking. When I pick my roses I often wind up with a bloody finger, but once they are in the vase sitting next to my computer I get to smell their lovely fragrance.

The Secret and the Law of Attraction are still buzzing around the self help and spiritual communities. They have been around since before time, but finally they got packaged in a palatable manner. I have no idea how long roses have been around. Not too long ago commercial growers created roses that would ship well and last a bit longer but they no longer smelled like roses.

Sometimes we think, “When I get ____________, then I will be happy.” But when it shows up we still aren’t happy. I often tell my students to pretend there is no out there. Out there can only impact us if we allow it. The events happening in life are emotionally neutral until we tell ourselves a story. Once you really internalize that concept there is an incredible amount of freedom. You no longer have to change anyone or anything. All you have to do is modify your internal dialog. Very simple but not very easy. It does take practice.

I look around at all the exotic flowers around my home. When I lived in Vermont they were rare and expensive. But since I changed my internal dialog and made certain choices they are now readily available. Of course I moved 6000 miles and planted the plants, nurtured them and when they bloomed took the time to pick the flowers and bring them into my home.

So now as I get ready to plant my vegetable garden I am whacking back the jungle, putting down weed block and mulching the area. Then when I plant my seeds I will easily be able to tend my garden.

What beliefs could you whack back and mulch to allow yourself to be happy? What seeds do you want to plant? What choices can you make so you too can live the life of your dreams?

My web magician Zack just made three of my classes available digitally so you can download them. In them I share all of my gardening secrets for creating a life beyond your wildest dreams. You might want to check them out.
