Susan’s Musings – November 2009

Aloha everyone,

Once again it is November. For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere it is the end of another growing season. It is a time of growing darkness and symbolically a time to go within and connect with your inner wisdom.  It is the beginning of the Celtic new year and a time to drift and connect with the dreamtime. It is also a time for giving thanks while filling yourself with the incredibly expansive energy of gratitude.

These days I think of November as gratitude month. I find that gratitude is one of the most healing and powerful energy states we can embrace. Gratitude, when applied liberally to all of life can allow us to feel joyful most of the time and begin to draw toward ourselves people, places and things that will assist us in creating the life of our dreams.

Celtic spirituality equally honored both the light and the dark. They viewed the dark time of the year as an important and very necessary time for rest and regeneration. They saw it as a time to prepare for rebirth, for the seeds we have planted to be filled with the energy of transformation before they spring forth into physical reality. All of life is cyclical and when we embrace and honor where we are in that cycle life can become easier and more joy filled.

As I often suggest ending the day by taking time to write a gratitude list is a wonderful way to close out the gift of another day here on planet earth especially if you have had a challenging day. However  we enter the dream state we are setting the stage for things to come and what better way to prepare than by feeling grateful?

I am grateful each and every one of you have chosen to share your journey with me. Later this month I will be changing webhosting companies so if you want to continue to get e mails from me you will have to respond to an email I send you saying you must respond but more about  that later.

This has been a challenging year and I have so much to be grateful for this year. For one thing I am about to put an extension on my house so I can have a wonderful office and meditation room. A short story about that. I saw a drawing of a new building for a church I often speak at so I found out the name of the architect. I went to see him and he did some wonderful sketches for me. As I was leaving he told me a movie about his life in the Army was about to be released and it was called Men Who Stare at Goats. I went to see it yesterday and had quite a few good laughs. I also chuckled about the coincidence about having him design my addition. They made a comedy out of some concepts he really believes in and it was fun to watch.

As always if I can be of service please let me know. The internet does have a black hole I refer to as email heaven so if you write to me and I don’t respond please don’t take it personally and write to me again. Things are changing. Podcast are now available every other week and my year long Mastering Life Program will be opening again soon and the video class Art of Allowing is almost a reality.

May your life be filled with magic and miracles and may this season of thanksgiving fill you with love and light and laughter.

With love and aloha,
Susan

Books of the Month

This month I was very happy when I opened a package and found a book written by my friend Marty Myer.  I have talked about her frequently in my newsletters. She is my animal communicator and she is wonderful. She has found lost cats and cured behavior issues on many occasions. Marty has also helped me with the decision to help my animals transition. She has written a heartwarming book called Same Dog Twice. I laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed the book. It is about her journey to become and animal communicator and about our animals ability to reincarnate. I highly, highly recommend it. Same Dog Twice is available through amazon.com.

The other book I have been enjoying is Defy Gravity by Caroline Myss.  She talks a great deal about healing being a mystical experience. She too was deeply moved by the writings of some of the saints and refers frequently to St Teresa of Avala. I was fascinated by her works and just ordered some of the more recent translations.

For a fun read I just finished the last book in the prequel series of the Clan Chronicles  Rift in the Sky by Julie E Czerneda. If you like Science Fiction at all she is a wonderful find.

Some Exciting News

This week I will finally get to see the proof of my latest meditation CD. I just had it mastered and heard one of the tracks. It is awesome, really really awesome. Devakant contacted me a few years ago about collaborating on a CD. I did the meditations and then he composed the music. When I first heard the music I was deeply moved and in absolute awe. Here is what he said about the project:

“I first came into contact with Susan through her book “The Toltec Way”.  I was delighted by her remarkable ability with weaving her insights into stories and guided fantasies, allowing the reader to participate in the journey through their own imagination.   The imagery evoked much music for me, so I decided to contact her and see if we might do something together.  We met in Hawaii, and very effortlessly this project was born, and grew until it came to be this CD in your hands.  I hope that it provides you with as much joy and delight as it has given me in doing it.  ”

devakant

Devakant is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who has been making music for meditation and healing for over 25 years.  His music combines elements from many

traditions of sacred music from all over the world, and he plays meditation-concerts   year round  on 4 different continents.  The instruments on this album include Bansuri, Shakuhachi, Duduk,  Harp, Guitar,  and keyboards.  For more information about his music and concert schedule, please see www.devakant.com

I will be offering a pre-release special later this month just in time for the holidays.

Susan’s Musings – October 2009

Aloha everyone,

The months seem to role by faster and faster. I love October. Here in Hawaii it is still warm but the days are growing shorter. The color of the sky changes with the seasons here and the main difference is the amount of rain and the temperature of the nights.

Last month Lithuania and Latvia were magical. Everyday I rode my bike along a wonderful bike path accompanied by the sounds of waves lapping, seagulls crying and caressed by gentle breezes. I love watching the lights come on in people’s eyes as we explore the sacred mysteries and release some of the creative ways we keep ourselves disconnected from the divine, powerful magicians we really are. Last year this time I brought my dad home to live with me and I adopted one of my dogs Roxie. She had four homes before mine and I could clearly see why. Today with a lot of patience, hours of watching the Dog Whisperer, discipline and exercise she is a wonderful addition to my family. Anything is possible if we are willing.

I turned 60 the other day and as I look back over my life I am amazed. Right now I am sitting on the lanai of my hotel room looking out at the ocean. I decided to take a week off and relax on the sunny side of the Big Island. When I think back about the years I didn’t have enough money to pay my bills, or when I was addicted to drugs, food, alcohol and cigarettes and I had little or no peace of mind I smile with gratitude.

Today, I see life as a huge amusement park that responds to my thoughts and beliefs. If I believe in life being hard I get to experience that and if I believe in my capacity to create peace and ease I get to experience that as well.

What happened in the past doesn’t matter unless we make it matter. What matters the most is what we focus our attention on right now. One woman in Lithuania believed her life was hard because her mother didn’t love her and never held her. She believed she needed to heal that wound and had spent most of her money going to workshops and seminars that helped her get in touch with the pain of the past. She was totally unwilling to let go and realize that in this moment, if she was willing to love herself and change her thinking her entire life would change.

It was amazing how tenaciously she held onto her excuses for misery. I remember doing the same thing. When I didn’t have enough money to pay my rent Miguel suggested that the whole world was mine to do with as I wished. I remember thinking that was easy for him to say. Before The Four Agreements was released I went to see Miguel. He told me the book would be a best seller, totally believed it and it has sold millions of copies.

The questions I ask myself when I am struggling with some area of my life is, “Am I willing to see this differently yet? How can I see this through the eyes of love? What would I like to experience instead?”

My podcasts are now coming out every two weeks. Hopefully in the next month or so my long awaited, year long video class Art of Allowing will be ready to go. One of the reasons I love October is because of Halloween or as I have come to call it All Hallows Eve. On October 31st I will be doing a tele-ceremony and would love to have you attend. It will be free and details will follow.

As always thanks for allowing me to be part of your process. If I can be of service feel free to drop me a line. If I don’t respond immediately, please don’t take it personally, chances are the email never got to me. And make sure you explore my website. It is being updated and I am constantly adding more articles, meditations and information designed to help you create the life of your dreams.

With love and aloha,
Susan

This month’s books

Here are a few of the books I have been reading this month.

I will once again suggest Wayne Dyer’s book Excuses Be Gone if you didn’t pick it up last month begin using the tools in it this month.

I enjoyed the new insights and perspective Thomas Moore offered about Jesus and the gospels in Writing in the Sand. If you have never read his book Care of the Soul I highly recommend it as well.

I also enjoyed The Four Insights by Alberto Villoldo. Although I don’t agree with his ideas about Karma I found the exercises and practices invaluable.

I have also been rereading The Course in Miracles as well as the Tao De Ching. I bought several translations of the Tao and found I liked Wayne Dyer’s version Living the Wisdom of the Tao the best.

For a fun read Terry Brooks just published another book in his Magic Kingdom series called The Princess of Landover. It is whimsical and fun.

Upcoming events

On October 31st I will be having a tele-ceremony. It will be a ceremony designed to free any trapped souls and for you to release any of your limiting beliefs and set yourself free. Details on how to log on will follow and it will be free.

Both SusanGregg.com and ArtofAllowingClass.com are being transformed, so check them out.

My podcasts are now available every other week so make sure you tune in and if you have any topics you would like to hear me discuss drop me a line. The feedback I have received is wonderful so please tell all your friends!

“Susan’s Musings” – September 2009

Aloha everyone,

I haven’t sent out a newsletter in a few months. A lot has been happening in my life, my dad died, I am creating a new series of
classes and updating my website all while getting ready for my yearly trip to my second spiritual home Lithuania.

As always I strive to share the wisdom and love that was given to me by my teachers in the most effective way. Toward that end I am changing the format of the newsletter a little bit. People are always asking me for suggestions about books to read so I will have a section on the books of the month. I will also have updates on my latest meditations and classes.

This holiday season I will be releasing a new meditation CD that I am extremely excited about. A few years ago a wonderful musician called Devakant asked me to collaborate with him on a meditation CD. I recorded the guided meditation and he composed the most magical, wonderful music to accompany the meditation. If all goes well with the mastering and production the CD will be available for the holidays. I was so moved by the music I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am to be part of this project. You can listen to some of his music at his web site. http://www.devakant.com/html/music.html

If you have any thoughts or suggestions please let me know. The internet is still a wonderful place to practice not taking things
personally. I always answer all my e mails so if I don’t respond by all means e mail me again. I will soon be adding an area to my web site called Ask Susan where you can post your questions and I will answer them.

Have a wonderful September. On September 27 I will be 60 years old and will be having a big party. Details will follow and if you’d like to come you will be welcome.

With love and aloha,
Susan

Books of the Month

I go through phases when it comes to my reading. Many years ago I was fascinated with the Tao and my teachings are infused with that wisdom. This month I decided to reread the Tao and didn’t like the translation I had so I went in search of some new translations and in the process ran across this book. It is wonderful and I highly recommend it.

The Tao of Daily Life by Derek Lin
It is full of wonderful teaching stories and will help you access your inner harmony and wisdom.

When You Are Falling – Dive by Mark Matousek
A friend suggested this book and I am sure you will enjoy it as well.

Excuses Be Gone! By Wayne Dyer
I really enjoyed reading this book. It reinforced many of the things I teach and allowed me to see them from a different
perspective.

I also decided to reread A Course in Miracles by Dr. Helen Schucman. If you haven’t read this book and done the exercises I highly recommend spending a year with it. The exercises will change your life.

If you have any books you would like to suggest feel free to drop me a line.

Coming Soon

Both SusanGregg.com and ArtofAllowingClass.com are being transformed, so check them out. My podcasts are now available every other week so make sure you tune in and if you have any topics you would like to hear me discuss drop me a line.

“Susan’s Musings” – April 2009

So How Is April Going?

Aloha everyone,

At times it feels like I fell off the face of the earth when I went to Mexico. The trip was incredible, lots of magical moments,
powerful ceremonies and an invitation to once again jump off that spiritual cliff into the abyss of unknowing. Having taken that leap of faith on numerous occasions I know I can fly and that whatever is on the other side will be magnificent, yet here I sit on the edge of the cliff, waiting.

In life there is often that moment where we have a choice, to step off into the unknown or to continue doing more of the same old same old. I am grateful that today I know that my freedom always lies on the other side of the unknown.  Today life seems to be filled with lots of unknowns and we can view that as a gift or continue to live our lives based on our fear. What new behaviors can you do? What new choices can you make to improve the quality of your life and the lives of people around you?

I have gotten several e mails asking me about what happened to all the wonderful videos.  I am about to start sending out videos
again. I absolutely love making videos. Finding the quiet time to record the audio can be challenging but once the audio is done
putting it all together is so much fun. The feedback I have been getting from people about the videos has been wonderful.

I have lots of exciting things happening in my life. I am about to get a new puppy, launch a new site and I have been asked to become a featured blogger on one of the major internet sites. I will be announcing more about that in a few weeks.

My real passion is what I call watching the light come on in people’s eyes. When I work with people I see their eyes change,
they begin to sparkle with happiness and joy and then their lives change. In Mexico I saw so many people change so profoundly. I am really looking forward to my upcoming retreat in Sedona. There are a few spots left. I hope you will give yourself the incredible gift of coming.

Watching my dad approach the time of his transition has been an incredible experience. We have had amazing talks about death and the nature of reality. Even in my wildest imagination I never expected to talk to my dad so openly about death and talking to the people that  have already died.

Life is full of gifts and opportunities to see reality in a more expansive manner or we can make it an incredibly hard struggle.
What choices have you been making lately? Just remember it is never too late to make a new choice!

With love and aloha,
Susan

Art of Allowing

I’m very excited to tell you about a new program I’ve been developing ever since you told me how much you loved the video
series I did for the Mastering Life program introduction a couple months ago.

Many of you said you loved the fact that the videos were short and focused on specific issues regarding the problems that arise on
your spiritual journey.

So, in answer to all the questions I received about whether I could make this into a regular program, the answer is a resounding YES!

I’ve been working to make this significantly less costly than the Mastering Life program, but still make it a useful and powerful way to help you take consistent steps toward real change in your life. I’m almost ready to open this up and would love it if you would join the Art of Allowing list and let me know what you think. http://artofallowingclass.com

Mastering Life is vastly more intensive, but sometimes that’s not what you might need at a particular moment in your life, or it’s
just not in the financial cards at the time. I really understand that and I think this may be the perfect alternative. [Note:
Current Mastering Life members will receive this complete video training series as part of their membership in Mastering Life.]

Think of the Art of Allowing Video series as bite-sized Toltec Wisdom training. There’s a lot to chew on, but it’s not too much to
swallow from one week to the next and the price will be just right.

If you want to know the moment my new video series is available and get more video training to boot, just sign up for my notifications list right here. http://artofallowingclass.com

If you have any particular things you’d like to be sure I include, or questions that you’d like to ask, just reply to this email and
let me know!

Aloha and see you there!

place where you will feel, see, and hear the spirit of the land and of the people who came before. We will connect with the wisdom of the ancient ones and totally change your perspective of life. In a sense we will explore the space between forms. The food will
nurture you, the land fill you and Susan will invite you to deepen your connection with your innate inner wisdom.

We’ll meet June 6th, get settled, come together as a group, eat a sumptuous meal and then do a powerful ceremony of surrender and release under the stars. The next morning we will journey to Canyon de Chelly where will spend the next two nights camping near Spider Rock and exploring the canyon.

We will do a full moon ceremony and spend time with a Navajo medicine man doing ceremony and becoming familiar with the Navajo culture. The power of the canyon, the magic of the night and the ceremonies in itself will be transformative.

We will then return to Sedona where we will spend the next four nights. We will work with the power of the vortexes, beauty and
wonder of Sedona. There will be classes each day, ceremonies, meditations, hikes, wonderful meals and time for quiet reflection.
By the end of the week you will have experienced a profound and lasting shift of consciousness. You will be able to re-enter your
life with a new perspective and the ability to create heaven on earth.

Included in the price is lodging, 7 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 5 dinners. We will provide tents, you will need to bring a sleeping
bag (or rent one). Transportation from Sky Harbor Airport to Sedona is not included. We will organize car pooling with the assumption that a number of people will rent cars. There is a carpooling allowance included in the price to compensate the drivers.

opportunity to move beyond our limited thinking and begin to see the infinite choices life holds.

Walk to the Edge with Susan Gregg

Grand Canyon Day Trip
Saturday – June 13, 2009
$145

There really are no words that can describe what you’ll feel the first time you look out over the vast expansive beauty of the Grand
Canyon. Yet, many words have been written. One Time-Life book describes the Grand Canyon as a place of “purple abysses, vermilion cliffs, and stone rainbows flinching under a sun that clangs across the sky like a cymbal.”

This 277-mile canyon that spans up to 18 miles across, and averages a mile deep, is known as one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and it’s right here in Arizona. Join Susan for a day trip to the Grand Canyon where she will lead a group to the edge,
overlooking precipices, amphitheaters, buttes, slopes, spires, and temples of stone, while calling upon the energy of the angels and the ancients to assist all in creating personal freedom.

The day trip will include carpool transportation and a restaurant meal at the Cameron Trading Post along the Little Colorado River. (See http://www.camerontradingpost.com/.)

We’ll drive north out of Sedona, past the San Francisco Peaks – one of four sacred mountains of the Native Americans of the Southwest, travel over the southwestern tip of the Navajo Nation, entering the Grand Canyon National Park through the east gate near the Watchtower, built in the early 1930’s by architect Mary Colter, at Desert View. The next 25 miles will take us to several overlooks where Susan will perform ceremony on the edge of the canyon where the layers of rock represent a period of nearly 2 billion years . Upon reaching the Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim, there will be some time for browsing in museums and shops before returning to Sedona. (For maps, photos, and more information about the park, see http://www.nps.gov/grca.)

All life is unique here, including yours. “There is a tremendous quiet, not merely the expected quiet of very early morning, but the
brooding, almost supernatural sort of quiet…” (Time Life Book). This is the place where you will feel, see, and hear – taste,
touch, and sense from the spirit within – the space between forms. The Grand Canyon – where you will walk to the edge, and wish you could stay.

I hope you join us for this wonder-full journey. Reserve your spot with Susan today by emailing her, and feel free to email, or call
me at 928.699.3316. I’ll be happy to answer your questions, and impart the inspiration I feel when I tune into the energy of this
living theater known as the Grand Canyon.

“Susan’s Musings” – February 2009

The power of love

I think of February as the month of love. We celebrate Valentine’s Day every year on the 14th. February was also my mother’s birth month and spring is just around the corner. I know to the core of my being that no matter what the question, no matter what the issue love is always the answer.

But what is love? Love at its purest level is an energy that is expansive. It is all inclusive, free of judgment and at its essence
it IS the energy of creation. What we do in the name of love is often not love at all.

Love can be fear based or love based. When love is fear base it is often about control and when viewed from afar it is nothing more than an unspoken trade agreement. If you do this and act in this way I will claim to love you, but if you fail to live up to the
rules I will get angry and withdraw my love. I may even transform my love into hate and blackmail you emotionally.

When we open our hearts and love we become vulnerable and magic and miracles become possible. Love base love begins when we learn to love ourselves unconditionally just the way we are. When we love ourselves it becomes possible to love others as they are rather than how we want them to be. One of my mentors told me to never give of my essence. He told me to make sure I kept my cup full of love and then only give of the overflow, that way there was always more than enough.

I could write volumes about love but I think the most valuable thing we can do for ourselves is to begin to love ourselves freely
and without reservation. Then we can begin to observe when our love is fear based and make another choice. Unless I know where I am I can’t change. Once I realized my love was fear based I could make a more expansive choice and begin to love with an open heart and mind.

When we love from a love based place we don’t have the ability to fall out of love. We may decide to change the nature of the
relationship but our love no longer turns into anger and hate.

I started loving myself by looking directly at myself in a mirror and saying I love you just the way you are. It was a process, a
journey if you will that transformed my life and allowed me to connect with my spirit. Give yourself that gift. This month I will
be offering two classes that will facilitate that process. It is an incredible journey, often an arduous one and it is well worth the
effort.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

With love and aloha,
Susan

“Susan’s Musings” – January 2009

Aloha and Happy 2009,

The years sure do roll by quickly. I currently have my father living with me. He has Alzheimer’s and is slowly slipping away. We
have some amazing conversations at times. He has all sorts of out of body experiences and talks to his father and my mother on the other side.

Most of my life he was adamant there was nothing beyond this life, dead was dead. He mocked my spiritual explorations and told me I guess weak people need a crutch of some sort. He has forgotten all that now and each morning he tells me about his dreams and experiences during his nightly journeys. It has been an incredible gift to me in so many ways.

I have had the opportunity to release so many of my old limiting beliefs and see my childhood through entirely new eyes. When I was in Lithuania in September getting ready to pick up my dad on my way home I was sure I was going to immediately put him in a nursing home that specialized in Alzheimer’s.  It became evident very quickly that he was very comfortable in my home and felt safe and loved. His gentleness and gratitude was totally unexpected.

This is an exciting year for me. Due to new technology I will be able to open up my classes to more people and have been enjoying
adding visuals and making lots of videos. I will be sharing the videos with you shortly. I love the results and have created a new
meditation video, the first of many. This year I plan on offering a variety of new types of classes. I will have regular free web
classes so If you have any suggestions about topics you would like to see me discuss please drop me a line and put questions in the subject line.

This year I had two books released, one on angels and the other on the magical uses of plants. Writing them was such a gift and the feedback I have received from readers has been awesome.

When I first established my presence on the Internet I decided I wanted to maintain the ability to personally respond to all my
messages. As my work gains in popularity, I find that task, while enjoyable, time consuming. If you wish to contact me could you
please state the purpose of your note clearly in the subject line. It makes it easier for me to respond. I do want to continue to
respond personally because I enjoy the interaction, but if I have to read endless text to find out what you want I am less able to do
that.

The Internet is a wonderful place to practice not taking things personally. There seems to be an e-mail heaven where messages go
and are never seen again in the same form. Occasionally e-mail addresses get blocked and I am not aware of it. I always respond to people’s emails, but if my address is blocked it can’t get through. So, if you ever do email me and I don’t respond – try again and if all else fails call me and leave a message.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey and may 2009 be the year all your dreams come true.

With love and aloha,
Susan

“Susan’s Musings” – November 2008

What is life?

I recently received an e mail asking me if there was any proof the Toltec tradition was real or if was it all just a big Mitote. The word mitote is used to refer to the endless chatter of the mind, the pilikia or trauma and drama we create with our thoughts.

I responded by saying all of life is really a mitote, a performance of our own making. Depending on our beliefs we can create a drama, a comedy, a romance or whatever else we want.  For the past few weeks in my Sunday class we have been discussing the concept that anything is possible if we are willing to pay the price. People had a variety of responses to the idea of paying a price.

Our life is a very accurate reflection of our beliefs, agreements and assumptions about life. If we insist on holding onto a belief, the price we pay is getting the same results in our life. If we want to create something else, the price is changing a belief. I have no idea if the Toltec tradition is real or if god exists or angels hover around me waiting for me to ask for their help.  And none of that really matters, what makes a difference in my life is to find a way of thinking and feeling that allows me to create what I want when I want it.

Angels may or may not exist and if I believe calling on Raphael will make traveling easy and effortless my travel will be easy and effortless. If I believe the three masteries of awareness, transformation and intent will change my life and the lives of others, they will. If you believe you are a victim you will experience victimization and if you change your beliefs your life will also change.

Just as water seeks its own level our lives consistently and accurately reflect our beliefs. So what is life? I believe life is an opportunity for me to deepen my connection with the essence of who and what I am, my spirit and then enjoy this glorious planet called earth. At times in my life I believed life was hard so it was. At other times I believed in no pain no gain so I experienced a lot of pain.

What is life to you?  Perhaps spend sometime writing about it and decide if you are willing to let go of some of your old, limiting beliefs.

I have a lot of exciting things happening next month. I will be unveiling a newly designed, revamped web site. I will start taking sign ups for three exciting, year-long classes and having a best seller day for my angel book.

With love and aloha,
Susan

Sedona Retreat June 6 ~ 13, 2008

tripEven though this is a limitless universe I have decided to limit the size of the group. It is already half full, so if you want to have the experience of your life contact me ASAP.

We’ll be staying at a wonderful B&B in Sedona. We’ll meet June 6th, get settled, come together as a group, eat a sumptuous meal and then do a powerful ceremony of surrender and release under the stars. The next morning we will journey to Canyon de Chelly where will spend the next two nights camping and exploring the canyon. ??We will do a full moon ceremony and spend time with a Navajo medicine person doing ceremony and becoming familiar with the culture. The power of the canyon, the magic of the night and the ceremonies in itself will be transformative. ??We will then return to Sedona where we will spend the next four nights. We will work with the power of the vortexes, beauty and wonder of Sedona. There will be classes each day, ceremonies, meditations, hikes, wonderful meals and time for quiet reflection. By the end of the week you will have experienced a profound and lasting shift of consciousness. You will be able to re-enter your life with a new perspective and the ability to create heaven on earth. ??Included in the price is lodging, 7 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 5 dinners.
